Private rides and PINs
Keep a ride for your group: share the link, and add a PIN for extra safety.
Steps
- When starting the ride, choose Private and type a PIN (4 to 8 numbers), or leave it empty.
- Tap the QR button (Invite riders) to share the link on WhatsApp. The PIN goes in the message.
- Riders nearby can tap Scan QR code (Ride together → Join with a code) and point it at your QR code. With the Tripsbadge app installed, the link opens straight in the app.
- Riders who open the link type the PIN once. If they leave and come back, they do not need it again.
- Leader: Ride settings → Who can join to switch between public and private, or change the PIN.
Questions
“That PIN isn’t right”
Check it with the ride leader. After 5 wrong tries you must wait 10 minutes.
I forgot my PIN (leader)
Open Invite riders: the leader always sees the PIN there.
